shetgirl3456 is a Scottish politician and the leader of Free Shetland. She founded the party on 12 November 2020, and will be standing in the Shetland constituency for the party, as well as the Highlands and Islands region. She was born on 9 February 1988 in Mid Yell, and studied at Burravoe Primary School and Mid Yell Junior High before moving to Anderson High School in Lerwick for her senior years in high school. She went on to attend Shetland College, graduating in nursing. After her graduation in 2010, she worked at Gilbert Bain Hospital for 9 years, until leaving in 2019.
In the December 2020 Scottish Parliament election, she was elected as a member of the Scottish Parliament for the Highlands and Islands region after winning 10,695 votes (6.0%) and qualifying for a seat. She simultaneously failed to be elected as a member of the Northern Irish Assembly after winning 3,398 votes (1.8%) in the County Down region. On 13 January 2021, shetgirl3456 created the Communist Party of Great Britain (Maoist) which advocated for Mao Zedong thought and a protracted people's war. On 30 January 2021, shetgirl3456 rebranded the party to Voices for Europe, a pro-European political party advocating against Brexit. She ran in the constituency of Cambridgeshire for Voices for Europe in the February 2021 United Kingdom general election, recieving 30.4% of the vote, but failing to be elected.
